Design Master Wish List

The current releases are DM Electrical RT 1.4, DM Electrical 8.6, DM HVAC 7.3, and DM Plumbing 4.1. We are not adding new features to these releases.

The next releases will be DM Electrical RT 2.0, DM Electrical 8.7, DM HVAC 7.4, and DM Plumbing 4.2 We are actively working on these release and using this wishlist to guide which features we implement. Features marked as "Planned" will be available in these releases.

  2. Button to reset equipment creation dialog to default values

When you create equipment, the information from the last piece of equipment is remembered and filled in. Add a "Reset to Defaults" button to the create equipment dialog box that would clear the information and reset it to its original state.

  3. Redefine Panel Schedule Blocks

Add a command to automatically erase and reinsert panel schedules so that attribute locations are updated correctly.

Currently, you have to manually erase the schedule, redefine the block, and reinsert the schedule.

  6. 5-Wire Feeders

Create feeders with a 5th wire (dedicated neutral) for computer/technology panels. These are typically routed to "K-Rated" dry-type transformers.

  8. Tick Marks on Switches in Parallel

Handle tick marks on switches in parallel correctly.

One use for this is multiple occupancy sensors in which case if any one switch is on the lights will be one. Each switch requires a hot and neutral as well as the switched leg.

  9. When inserting circuited equipment on a drawing, do not insert a homerun

When inserting a piece of equipment on a drawing that is connected to a circuit, the homerun is inserted, too. Add a checkbox to the insert equipment dialog box to allow you to insert the equipment with a circuit label but no homerun.

  10. Add a sort by circuit id, then by callout to Project Explorer

Many times on complicated drawings I have a circuit that feeds multiple floors of devices or large areas. When I do Find Circuit, DM will zoom way out, highlight all the devices, and put lines to them. As soon as I try to find those far away circuits the lines disappear and then I start the needle in the hay stack look. If I has sort by circuit id, then callout I could see all the devices and then select find on each device of that circuit till I select the one in question since it creates a line that…

  13. Equipment Disconnect Highlight Blocks

Support highlight blocks for equipment disconnects. (Highlights are the blocks that allow you to use a second color in blocks.)
