Design Master Wish List
The current releases are DM Electrical RT 1.1, DM Electrical 8.4, DM HVAC 7.3, and DM Plumbing 4.1. We are not adding new features to these releases.
The next releases will be DM Electrical RT 1.2, DM Electrical 8.5, DM HVAC 7.4, and DM Plumbing 4.2 We are actively working on these release and using this wishlist to guide which features we implement. Some features you see marked as “complete” will not be available until these releases are finished.

Be able to create a panel schedule for existing loads not in model
I do a lot of remodel work and it would be nice to be able to fill out a panel schedule with existing load data from a hard copy of an existing panel schedule without have to actually put the loads in the model and then circuiting them.
1 voteI won’t say never, but this feature would be quite difficult currently. We let Revit handle all the loads in the project. It really needs to be handled by Autodesk directly rather than by us.

Electrical + HVAC for Revit in German with german norms
We have a large Building design Industrie. And all Arch and Eng companies are now changing from AutoCad to Revit but there is no good Software on the market for engineers to calculate electrical or HVAC Systems. An app for Revit for both will make it all better and faster. The potential could be in the millions.

Be able to add disconnects to equipment so they work similar to Design Master Electrical in AutoCAD
We need a way to link two family instances together so that when you update one of the instances it updates the other.

One-Line Export to Drafting Views
If there was a way to have the export of one line diagrams go to drafting views instead of populating external dwgs?
13 votesI won’t say never, because that’s what we originally said about ever doing anything for Revit at all, and look where we are. However, this request is very unlikely. Using all the power of AutoCAD, we just barely are able to pull off a one-line that people are comfortable using. It would be a lot of work to do something in Revit that is half as good that likely no one would actually be happy using.

ComCheck Export For Revit
I would like to export from Revit to import into ComCheck similar to the AutoCAD version of Design Master Electrical

Copy panel and loads to new project
Be able to copy panels and other distribution from one project to another. The loads on the panel will be created as fixed loads in the new project.

Low-voltage looping
Be able to draw loops between devices for low-voltage lines, for connecting items like sensors and power packs.

Indoor point-by-point calculations
Add indoor point-by-point lighting calculations.

Diffuser Airflow Patterns
HVAC diffusers have air flow patterns much like light fixtures have photometric patterns.
Air Diffuser manufacturers supply the pattern shapes and provide the distances in feet for airflow velocities at 150FPM, 100FPM and 50FPM for heating and cooling.
Is there a way you can give the DM user the ability to insert their own airflow pattern (through a formatted file input) with contour lines similar to DM photo metrics?
This would be DM's start into Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Electrical Symbol Legend
Add a Schedule of all blocks used in the project. This could be used a Symbol Legend for the Project.

Incorporate adjustable trip breakers
Add the ability to specify breakers with electronic trip units (ETUs), aka adjustable trip breakers, in Design Master projects.
The intent of adding this capability would be to allow the user to flag where an ETU is used and display the required/desired settings.
It would NOT be the intent to make DM have the functionality to do the coordination studies necessary to develop the settings.
1) Electronic trip breakers, when used, are usually MCBs or feeder breakers with the following characteristics:
Breaker Frame (AF)
Breaker trip (AT)
Breaker plug size (AP)*Long-time pickup (LTPU)
Long-time delay (LTD)
Short-time pickup (STPU) …6 votes -
Loop devices with polylines
DesignMaster currently loops devices using arcs. We'd like an option to change looping from using arcs to use polylines (we differentiate between MC cable and conduits with arcs and polylines, respectively). Ideally these polylines would offset themselves similar to how feeder polylines are offset during one-line generation.

Unique ID for all Feeders and Branch Circuits
Have a way to make a unique cable ID for every feeder, branch circuit and low voltage circuit. For example P-MCC1-001 for the power cable fed from MCC1 or PT-FLOWGAS-003 for a pressure transmitter.
I'm working on a big industrial plant where I need a have a cable number for every cable in the plant.
I would like to have the ID on the one line, plan view drawing and export to Excel.

A spreadsheet like table, simular to the fault calculations, that shows all the load calculation fields by panel, as they move to the final
A spreadsheet like table, similar to the fault calculations, that shows all the load calculation categories by panel, as they move to the final service calculation. We could then turn the load calculation footer off on the panel schedules and include this summary table in the drawings. It would also be great to figure out how the loads are adding up.

Insert Devices via command line
Be able to insert a receptacle/device without picking it from the 'Insert Receptacle' form. A command followed by the device name would prompt the user to place the receptacle like they just clicked "OK" after selecting a device.

Multi text search
implement Multi-Text search through out the menus.
So for example when searching through the Insert Receptacle menu and in my case we have several thousand pieces of equipment. if the equipment is called 'RX99S' instead of just allowing us to hit 'R' and starting us off at the beginning of the list of 'R' equipment allow us to type out 'RX99S' and design master go straight to the piece of equipment. this is a very simple change to the code in design master and would save tons of time on projects.

Change Voltage of Project
Be able to change voltage of a completed project for 208V to 240V and keep everything connected and circuited.

Edit Fixture Units in "Edit Multiple Pipes" Command
The Edit Multiple Pipes command needs to have the ability to change fixture units. Sometimes I forget to add fixture units to hot and cold water pipes I'm copying to other sink or shower locations and then I have to change each one individually or erase them and copy them again after I've added fixtures units to the first one to be copied. The current project I'm working on is a large university sports complex with a lot of locker rooms so you can imagine the number of showers, sinks and toilets, etc.

Device Circuiting - More options than just a loop.
We do a lot of low voltage design, and when we circuit on the drawings, the only option for circuiting is a loop. With multiple low voltage systems on one drawing (door locks, intercoms, CCTV, access control, RFID, duress alarms, paging, etc.), looped circuiting looks messy and can be confusing. It would be nice to have other types of circuiting available that is more linear.
