Design Master Wish List
The current releases are DM Electrical RT 1.3, DM Electrical 8.5, DM HVAC 7.3, and DM Plumbing 4.1. We are not adding new features to these releases.
The next releases will be DM Electrical RT 1.4, DM Electrical 8.6, DM HVAC 7.4, and DM Plumbing 4.2 We are actively working on these release and using this wishlist to guide which features we implement. Some features you see marked as “complete” will not be available until these releases are finished.

Add the capability to make a note in panel schedules for special circuit breakers - HACR, SWD, etc.
Would make sense to add a note field in the equipment connection creation form or in the circuiting form to tag individual breakers with specific requirements, possibly with a superscript which refers to a box of notes attached to the bottom of the schedule.

Annotation Scaling / Multiple Scales on a Single Drawing
Add support for annotative scale factors for blocks and text. This would allow blocks and text to be the same size in different scaled viewports.

Electrical Symbol Legend
Add a Schedule of all blocks used in the project. This could be used a Symbol Legend for the Project.

Fire Alarms
Add better support for fire alarm system design.
Various improvements related to this suggestion include:
Add 12V, 14V, 16V, 18V and 24V DC device support for Fire Alarm Systems
Change loads from KVA to mA or even VA. Two load types should be
available, standby power and alarm power for each FA device.Add ability for wiring such as 24, 22, 18, 16, and 14 awg.
Add ability to perform standby and alarm battery ampere-hour
calculations.Display length, current, voltage, and voltage drop for each circuit.
Have fire alarm panels with appropriate attributes, such as alarm time, standby time, battery…

VAV Box Schedule
Create a schedule of VAV boxes, similar to the diffuser schedule.
63 votesWe are considering this for DM HVAC 7.1. Additional information about what you would like the schedule to look like would be helpful, either in the comments or emailed to us.
In particular, examples of schedules you currently use would help a lot. I prefer Excel or DWG format over PDF if possible!

Insert Load Calculation Output on Drawing
Insert the load calculation schedules on the drawing.

Export to eQuest or DOE2.2
Be able to export building load information to eQuest or DOE2.2 using gbXML for energy modeling purposes, such as ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, and Title 24.

Premade fixture blocks
Premade blocks similar to what is used in both HVAC and Electrical could be inserted into the drawing with predefined fixture units. The fixture units would be stored into multiple headings with IPC and UPC fixture units. The connections would be there with predetermined heights as well.

Background Mask for Text
Have a mask on all the text inserted with Design Master that will hide anything on the drawing behind it to make it easier to read.

Multi text search
implement Multi-Text search through out the menus.
So for example when searching through the Insert Receptacle menu and in my case we have several thousand pieces of equipment. if the equipment is called 'RX99S' instead of just allowing us to hit 'R' and starting us off at the beginning of the list of 'R' equipment allow us to type out 'RX99S' and design master go straight to the piece of equipment. this is a very simple change to the code in design master and would save tons of time on projects.

Indoor point-by-point calculations
Add indoor point-by-point lighting calculations.

One-Line Export to Drafting Views
If there was a way to have the export of one line diagrams go to drafting views instead of populating external dwgs?
16 votesI won’t say never, because that’s what we originally said about ever doing anything for Revit at all, and look where we are. However, this request is very unlikely. Using all the power of AutoCAD, we just barely are able to pull off a one-line that people are comfortable using. It would be a lot of work to do something in Revit that is half as good that likely no one would actually be happy using.

Metric
Support drawings with metric base units.

Add Standard UPC and IPC Sizing Charts
Especially for waste and vent sizing, the conversion from fixture units to pipe sizing is standard for all cases for the UPC and IPC. Generating sizing charts for cold and hot water, automatically through a series of settings possibly, would be probably more difficult to implement but equally helpful to make sizing plumbing easier.
14 votes -
Low-voltage looping
Be able to draw loops between devices for low-voltage lines, for connecting items like sensors and power packs.
13 votes -
Plumbing and Piping Fixtures
Be able to create plumbing and piping fixtures, similar to light fixture or receptacles in DM Electrical or diffusers in DM HVAC.

SKM Power Tools
Provide the ability to import and export panel schedules and switchboard schedules between Design Master and SKM PowerTools for Windows.
