Design Master Wish List
The current releases are DM Electrical RT 2.0, DM Electrical 8.6, DM HVAC 7.3, and DM Plumbing 4.1. We are not adding new features to these releases.
The next releases will be DM Electrical RT 2.1, DM Electrical 8.7, DM HVAC 7.4, and DM Plumbing 4.2 We are actively working on these release and using this wishlist to guide which features we implement. Features marked as "Planned" will be available in these releases.

Transfer Grilles for Air Balance Report
Add a transfer grille option for return air so that you can use the balance report function on projects which use transfer grilles.

Adding Further Pipe Symbols
All of these symbols came up on one particular project, please leave comments on common plumbing symbols that I may have missed. Adding in these symbols and the corresponding isometric representations would greatly reduce the amount of time required to create each one of them by hand on both models. The following are the symbols that I found would be useful additions:
- Mixing valves
- Water heaters
- Grease interceptor
- Sample wells for grease interceptors
- Cleanout
- Cleanout to grade
- Two-way cleanout
- Backflow preventer
- Water filter

Set number of spare breakers
Add an option to require a set number of spare breakers on every panel. The other breakers in the panel would be listed as spaces.

Keep Tick Marks on Broken Circuits
When a circuit is broken, keep tick marks inserted on one of the halves.

Load Type Schedule Designation
Add a distribution schedule customization attribute that can be added to panel schedules as an additional column to show load type(s) that are connected to each circuit, preferably letter abbreviation designations for each load type. (Heating would be 'H', Lighting would be 'L', Motor loads 'M' etc...)

ComCheck Export For Revit
I would like to export from Revit to import into ComCheck similar to the AutoCAD version of Design Master Electrical

Outdoor point-by-point calculations
Add outdoor point-by-point calculations for parking lot lighting.

Total Load in Project
Please add capability to total loads for the project before the circuiting is complete.
I would like to have a load sheet that keeps track of the total project load.
What I use now is a modified panel shedule that only shows the loads for a dummy panel I create called service. I connect all the panels together and then to Service. This gives me a total load analysis for the project, but only after the design is complete. I need to be able to confirm my loads and service sizing at the design development stage before circuiting.
A consideration…

Export the luminaire schedule into excel
I have lighting reps ask me all the time for an excel spreadsheet of our luminaire schedule. It would be helpful to export our luminaire schedule into excel.

Customization of circuiting callouts
In circuiting callouts, allow the dash to be replaced by a custom string.
Example: Default circuiting callout is L1A-1,3,5. Allow us to make it say L1A: 1,3,5 or L1A CKT 1,3,5.

Indoor point-by-point calculations
Add indoor point-by-point lighting calculations.

Support Paralleled Generators Connected to Switchboard
DM does not currently support more than one source on the Normal side of an ATS or the EM side of ATS, however larger I-2, I-3 occupancies generally have paralleled generators connected to a switchboard. This feature would avoid cumbersome work arounds.

Multi text search
implement Multi-Text search through out the menus.
So for example when searching through the Insert Receptacle menu and in my case we have several thousand pieces of equipment. if the equipment is called 'RX99S' instead of just allowing us to hit 'R' and starting us off at the beginning of the list of 'R' equipment allow us to type out 'RX99S' and design master go straight to the piece of equipment. this is a very simple change to the code in design master and would save tons of time on projects.

Change Voltage of Project
Be able to change voltage of a completed project for 208V to 240V and keep everything connected and circuited.

Add horsepower of individual loads on mcc schedules
The MCC schedule doesn't have the ability to show horsepower values for the individual loads. This is important information for the MCC vendor for breaker and overload sizing.

Metric
Support drawings with metric base units.

Add spell check option for schedules.
ACAD spell check does not update Design Master Schedules. ACAD spell check needs to be run every time a schedule is updated.

Voltage Drop Based upon Connected or Other Load
Be able to specify that the voltage drop on a feeder should be based upon the connected or other load, rather than the calculated load.
One example of a use for this feature is a piece of equipment that serves a single motor. You want the voltage drop for the connected load of the motor, rather than the calculate load, which will be 125% of the motor load.

Swap circuits in Revit
Be able to swap circuits in Revit like you can using the "Move Circuit" command in DM Electrical for AutoCAD.

Demolition Layer Devices
I do not feel that the schedules should show counts for devices like receptacles and computer outlets that are on a demolition layer.
